which fish filter to use?
i have a 25 gallon tank and i have two different filters. im curious if anybody has advice on which i should use. I have a penn-plax cascade 150 filter and a bak pak with a rio 600 pump. which should i use?
if its a freshwater then you use the plenn-plax, if its saltwater then you use the bak pak. i also read that if you have saltwater and have live rock then you take out the biological media because it is soooo good at changing ammonia to nitrate fast that the nitrate accumulates instead of being broken down to N2 by the live rock. A protein skimmer is all you would need in saltwater with live rock. A protein skimmer does not work in freshwater. It does not work at all, ever.
